Tottenham Hotspur striker and England captain Harry Kane has become the official image ambassador of the NFL Academy.

The college will officially begin operation in September this year at Barnett and Sosgate Colleges. The aim is to provide students aged 16-18 with the opportunity to learn life skills beyond education and to conduct intensive American football training under the guidance of full-time professional coaches.

“I’m proud to be an image ambassador for the NFL’s vows,” said Kane, who started his career at the Academy. “I’m a fan of NFL and I’ve been following the game for a long time. I am very excited that my team can bring the NFL to Tottenham and our local community to benefit from this collaboration. I can’t wait to see NFL College jerseys sales come into operation.”

Last month, the NFL recruited about 80 students for the first time, after a final trial at Spurs’new stadium. This is also Spurs’first event on the home court specifically designed for the NFL.

Some of the top NFL stars have expressed their support for the college and also acted as image ambassadors. They will come to the college regularly to help guide the students.

The NFL will host the first two London games of the year at Spurs’new home on October 6 and 13, when the Oakland Raiders jerseys will face the Chicago Bears and the Tampa Bay Pirates will face the Carolina Panthers.
